Feed The Need To Read

This past December, Asbury Automotive Group launched its #AsburyCares initiative with Hunger Fight through our ‘Feed The Backpacks’ campaign to provide 130,040 nutritious meals, 6,240 books, and over 6,000 toys to children in our local communities. These meals, books, and toys were distributed in Texas, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Colorado, Missouri, Indiana, and Virginia. Partners like Asbury continue to help Hunger Fight meet the food needs of the children in our community and we are grateful they’ve chosen Hunger Fight
to support!

River City Church believes they are to give as a part of worship – part of experiencing joy and life to the fullest! During these challenging times, River city has decided to take a step further in their mission to serve our community and partnered with Hunger Fight to host packing  events in 2020. Before the year ended, they had packed 12,264 meals that will be given to local schools for distribution to children at risk for hunger.

Thanks to the many community partners and volunteers in clay county who came out to our 6th Annual Feeding Clay this year. Our goal has always been to reduce hunger and illiteracy in our community. Your sponsorship enables us to be successful and to continue to make our mission possible. Together we were able to pack 40,824 meals in just two and a half hours. Our partners this year included Highpoint Community Church, Presbyterian Church, First Baptist Church of Middleburg, River Christian Church, Crossroad Lutheran Church, Law Office of
Robert Eckard & Associate, P.A., Legacy Dock and Marine Construction, Forterra, The Spring Church, New Beginnings Church, and Garber Automall.

For the past five years partnering with Hunger Fight, Pastor Andre has decided to bring Hunger Fight with him to Marion County as he moved from Clay County. Our friends from Belleview SDA Church packed over 36,000 meals. Our thanks to the many volunteers who turned out to pack these meals.

The Journey church brought 120+ people to pack meals with Hunger Fight to be distributed back to their community through their four campuses in Orange City, Deland High School, Pine Ridge High School, and Harvest Time International Inc.

The Village Church has been one of Hunger Fight’s valued partners for many years now. This year they have packed 12,096 meals for their local food banks including some in the St. Augustine area for those in need. We are thankful for their ongoing support and volunteerism.
